I was asked to cover the annual sponsored event which marked the beginning of a three year association between Autism Jersey and JT Global. 100 people turned out for the fundraising event  – a sponsored 7 miles walk from Le Braye to L’Etacq and back again. No mean feat. Tough enough at the best of times – but through strong winds - changeable weather – and a bitter chill – then hats off to the men, women and children (and dogs) who managed the distance. Well done everyone – especially those with kids and buggies – it can’t have been easy pushing 4 wheels through the sand. I hope you like some of the pictures. The event was started by His Excellency The Lieutenant Governor and Lady McColl, Tim Ringsdore from JT and Nick Winsor from HSBC.

that isn’t to say it’s the easiest place in the world to photograph – at night – in the dark. It was a two day event – with the gala dinner on the first night. This involved ferrying 2 double decker bus loads of staff from the West End to the City. The best laid plans saw me arriving early and getting setup ready to capture some technically challenging photography of the buses arriving and the Gherkin lit up in the background. Alas the cab me and the organisers were in took longer than the buses – oops. And then the real fun starts – the Gherkin is an incredible venue. We visited during the day for a recce – and at the very top of the Gherkin – the apex – there is a glass ceilinged restaurant with 360 degree views of London – the most fantastic uninterrupted views of London – for many many miles. A great place to photograph in during daylight hours. Now – fast forward 6 hours when it’s pitch black and there is nothing but glass between me and 100 people in a candle lit room with the sky and the stars for company – it becomes a very difficult place to photograph in. Anyway – we managed. What do you think?

It was a busy morning – the sun kept coming and going (photographers bug-bear) and individuals were shooting here and there. We started with the big team then whittled down to the smaller teams. We got some fun stuff. Should be seeing them in the press over the next few months.

As well as the safe JT branding shots which are becoming the defacto standard for some external marketing communications – I worked with Dave around his offices in Minden Street and up on the busy call centre floor.

I introduced some JT branding into the shots (always useful for external marketing communications) – and tried to create a modern dynamic look marrying with JT’s own strong global brand values. I think we got something that worked.

There were some old photo albums on display and they seemed to cause much hilarity and intrigue … “where are they now?”
